Quality Ratings

Our goal is to be the leading healthcare organization in providing high quality, affordable, and accessible care. To achieve this goal, we have invested significant resources in patient safety programs, quality improvement initiatives, and medical/information technology. Cary Medical Center has been recognized nationally for these efforts and has received numerous quality care, patient safety, and customer service awards.

Although we’re very proud of our accomplishments so far, we are committed to achieving 100% satisfaction and compliance ratings in all service areas. We not only want to meet, but to exceed every patient’s expectations. This is no small task, but one that we feel is of the highest importance. Our patients deserve the absolute best healthcare possible; the kind of care we would want for ourselves or our loved ones. That is why every employee at Cary Medical Center has pledged to help create a healthy and safe environment for our patients and visitors.

Thanks to the outstanding work and dedication of our entire Cary family, we’re proud to share with you our quality ratings. This data represents national quality standards and measures hospitals’ performances based on information compiled through patient surveys, voluntary reporting, and clinical outcomes. We invite you to review our quality ratings and to learn more about quality healthcare measurements that can help you make more informed healthcare decisions.

The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization and is considered the nation’s predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare. Cary Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and meets their very strict standards in regards to established measures of quality. The Joint Commission is currently studying three areas: Heart Attack Care, Heart Failure Care, and Pneumonia Care.

The Medicare Program publicly discloses quality of care information on the nation’s hospitals. Medicare is measuring Acute Myocardial Infarction, Heart Failure, and Pneumonia. In this report, Medicare rates the success of the hospital in meeting certain ‘Core Measures’ as established by Evidenced Based Medicine.

The Maine Health Management Coalition Page, a collaboration of large companies and employers in Maine who are focusing on healthcare cost and quality, have created additional quality reporting initiatives.
