Radiology is the specialty of using imaging technology, such as ultrasound, X-ray, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment, to diagnose and sometimes treat diseases.  Physicians who specialize in radiology are called radiologists.  Radiologists read and interpret images to identify the presence of abnormalities such as cancer, nerve damage, and bone deformities.
