Cary Medical Center was the first hospital in Maine to offer an advanced mammography instrument with unique technology to provide superior breast images.  The award-winning Diamond mammography unit uses a bi-directional compression system, unlike any other system being used today, that results in highly detailed, more complete breast images.  Additionally, the Diamond has been identified by women as being much more comfortable than other mammography units thanks to features that help improve the positioning and compression of the breast.  The Diamond mammography unit is a product of Instrumentarium Imaging.
