RN - Resource Pool RN - 36 hrs/wk Print E-mail

This is primarily a 7 pm to 7 am position.  Depending on departmental staffing needs, this RN may be asked to work nights, evenings, days, weekends and/or holidays.

Qualifications include:  Current Maine RN license; minimum of two years experience in critical care, such as ICU, ER; positive interpersonal and team building skills; excellent organizational and communication skills; flexibility and willingness to work various units as assigned, and willingness to cross-train to other nursing units and ground/air transport.

Responsibilities:

1.  Collaborate with the Primary Charge or Charge Nurse to assist in coordinating and performing specific patient care duties

2.  Function as advisor, preceptor, and leader for other members of the patient care team

3.  Perform multiple short-term assignments assisting patient care areas with immediate support as needed during the shift

4.  Assist in the development, implementation and communication of a cost-effective, quality, and comprehensive nursing plan of care

5.  Teach and oversee the instruction of patients and others who will care for the patient

6.  Be accountabe for the quality of own nursing practice and the quality of practice of others to whom task delegation has been given; maintain the environment of care of the unit; participate in the development of team members, and implement and evaluate systems/standards of professional nursing practice for the unit and Cary Medical Center

7.  Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with members of the nursing team, interdisciplinary partners, patients, and families
