Congratulations to Cary Medical Center’s 2021 New Year’s Baby, Octavia Nanci Jasmin, and her parents, Samantha and James Jasmin of Fort Fairfield. Octavia was the first baby born at Cary for the New Year, on Monday, January 4th, at 11 a.m. weighing in at 6 pounds, 13 ounces and 18.5 inches long. Baby Octavia was delivered by Bonnie Bouchard, a Certified Nurse Midwife and Dr. Yesim Kural, OB/GYN with Pines Health Services.
Octavia and her parents were presented with gifts from the hospital, Crown of Maine Quilters and the Cary Medical Center Auxiliary. Cary Auxiliary members personally donate gifts and handmade items for the New Year’s baby basket, which includes items for the baby, and for Mom and Dad. Auxiliary members have coordinated this project and made personal donations for over the last decade to the first baby born in the New Year at Cary. Ladies from the Crown of Maine Quilters have also donated a beautiful handmade quilt for the New Year’s baby, a longstanding tradition from the generous quilting group.
With about 20 active members, the Cary Medical Center Auxiliary continues to thrive, supporting the hospital by hosting various fundraisers with proceeds supporting many hospitals projects.
Presenting Octavia’s handmade quilt is Judith Green-Tarr, Quilter with Crown of Maine Quilters.
Presenting a gift basket filled with baby essentials is Cary Auxiliary member, April Caron-Rose.
Here are just a few of the many positive things our patients have to say about their the care they received at Cary Medical Center.
