Radiologic Technologist – Full-Time Imaging

Job Summary:  Job duties include completing Diagnostic Radiography, Fluoroscopy and Bone Density procedures on inpatients and outpatients with a focus on high quality outcomes, outstanding customer service and radiation safety.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Completes diagnostic radiography, fluoroscopy and bone density procedures following departmental protocols
  2. Confidently explains diagnostic radiography, fluoroscopy and bone density procedures to customers
  3. Accurately and consistently completes required Diagnostic Radiography, Fluoroscopy and Bone Density paperwork
  4. Assists the Front Office staff in insuring orders for Diagnostic Radiography, Fluoroscopy and Bone Density procedures are appropriate
  5. Maintains current standards of practice through review of current literature, including information on best practice
  6. Performs daily, monthly, quarterly quality control as appropriate
  7. Communicates examination outcomes to Radiologists appropriately
  8. Oversight of inventory (medical supplies and other supplies)
  9. Participates in quality management oversight and data acquisition
  10. Bring issues and potential solutions to the attention of the Primary Charge of Radiology.
  11. Demonstrates outstanding professional behaviors
  12. Completes assigned Diagnostic Radiology duties per room assignment or evening/night tech duties
  13. Attends departmental meetings with the Primary Charge of Radiology and the Medical Director of Radiology as requested

Organizational Requirements:

  1. Reports to work on time and as scheduled
  2. Wears identification and required dosimetry badge while on duty
  3. Uses computerized punch time system correctly
  4. Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and tidy
  5. Maintains and ensures confidentiality at all times
  6. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practice
  7. Adheres to safety policies as evidenced by inservice attendance records and employee practices
  8. Attends a minimum of 10 departmental meetings annually and reviews monthly staff meeting minutes of missed meetings
  9. Parks in designated employee areas, allowing accessible parking for the elderly, ill and visitors
  10. Does not exceed 3% unscheduled absences

  1. Completes work within a designated time
  2. Demonstrates the ability to work independently and is accountable for own actions
  3. Shows initiative and follow-through
  4. Demonstrates productivity at work (makes good use of down time)
  5. Performs duties willingly and enthusiastically
  6. Returns from breaks, meals, meetings and inservices in a timely manner
  7. Takes appropriate actions when safety issues are identified (reports hazardous situations to appropriate person, removes malfunctioning equipment, etc)
  8. Follows recommendations designed to reduce worksite injuries (proper body mechanics, personal protective gear, safe sharps, etc)
  9. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations
  10. Demonstrates judicious use of supplies

Availability Requirements:

Sunday through Saturday per shift assigned.  Call required on a rotating basis.

Educational, Skills, Experience Requirements:

State of Maine License

ARRT Certification

CPR Certification
