Well-balanced, nutritious meals are an important part of a patient’s overall health and recovery. At Cary Medical Center, our Nutritional Services team carefully prepares every meal using fresh, high-quality ingredients. With a trained chef at the helm in our kitchen and full-time dietitians on staff, you won’t get typical high-volume cafeteria meals here. Our new menu includes delicious foods that are prepared with every diet in mind, including low fat and low sodium options, and we only use zero trans-fat oils.

Services Provided
Our Nutritional Services team prepares and serves more than 200,000 meals every year for patients, visitors, employees, volunteers, and Maine Veteran’s Home residents. They also provide catering services for hospital functions, including special events, meetings, and educational programs, as well as for outside agencies, including local organizations and school functions.
Our dietitians are experts in food and nutrition. They provide medical nutrition therapy for individuals and groups to teach them how to achieve a well-balanced diet to maximize the health benefits of food. Additionally, they customize meal plans for hospitalized patients based on their medical condition. This is done with input from the patient, their family, and their medical providers. Our dietitians also conduct regular monthly educational programs for patients who have diabetes or cardiovascular disease.
Location
Our cafeteria is located on the basement level of Cary Medical Center. If you need assistance or are unfamiliar with our facility our customer service volunteers would be happy to escort you to the department.
