Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

Cary Medical Center has been providing services in Orthopedic Surgery for nearly half a century.  Today with Dr. Jean Pierre Michaud we have the most experienced Orthopedic Surgeon in Northern Maine.  Dr. Michaud has performed more than 1,000 Total Joint Procedures and together with his Orthopedic Team, including Physician Assistant, Scott Walton, the Center provides the most comprehensive service in Aroostook County. In addition to General Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Michaud has also completed fellowship training in Sports Medicine and works with many athletes throughout Northern Maine to get them safely back in the game.

In 2014 Cary completed construction of Pines Orthopedic and Sports Medicine located on the East side of the hospital. This $1 million dollar facility is the most comprehensive orthopedic center in Northern Maine featuring ground level parking, with a large entrance providing easy access for wheelchair bound or disabled patients and a spacious, comfortable waiting room. The center offers state of the art technology with advanced x-ray services, 8 exam rooms, and capacity for up to four Orthopedic Providers.  Recently Pines Orthopedics and Sports Medicine added a Surgical Podiatrist who is now accepting referrals.

At Pines Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, treatment plans are ‘patient-specific’ addressing the unique, individual needs of each patient with a ‘Team’ approach. Dr. Michaud and the professional orthopedics team provide compassionate care and patients are invited to be active partners in their treatment plan.
