Parenting in the Digital Age

There are many challenges to raising children in the Digital Age: Our children and parents spending so much time on screens and so little time together; The difficult economy here in Aroostook County and its effect on children and families; The Opiate Crisis; grandparents raising their children’s children, and so much more.  At a recent recognition ceremony, acknowledging the 5th year that Pines and Cary have earned the ‘Women’s Choice Award’ as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics, the issue of parenting came front and center.  The professional staff were passionate about the need for additional parenting programming for both health care professionals and parents.   They referenced the many challenges faced by the patients and as a result the April 27th – ‘Parenting in the Digital Age’ conference was born.

We are so pleased that Dr. Stephen Bavolek a recognized leader in the field of child abuse and neglect and prevention and parenting education has agreed to come to Aroostook County for this all day seminar and an evening with community members.  We are grateful to The Center for the Advancement of Rural Living for sponsoring the event.  We appreciate the support of Cary Medical Center, The University of Maine at Presque Isle, and Pines Health Services.    If you work with children and families in any capacity we know you will find this event helpful both professionally and personally.  Attendance Certificates will be provided.

Please join us on Friday, April 27 at the University of Maine at Presque Isle for this remarkable presentation.  Registration will begin at 8:30 and our program will start at 9:00 am.  Your $90 registration fee covers all materials, breaks and lunch.  If you have questions, please contact Cary Medical Center at 207-498-1112 or by email to:  [email protected].  We look forward to seeing you – Thank you.
